USB Drive – My Favorite Gadget

This isn’t a device that most people get excited about. It’s not much different than a computer disk. Yet it can hold much more data than a disk. Previously I used writable cd’s to take files from one place to another, and while it isn’t all that different in concept I find my USB drive much easier to use. Just plug it in and you have your portable drive right there ready to go. Also it is compact and easy to carry. There are numerous items that do much more than the USB drive, gadgets that play music or video, that have a calendar or keep one organized, that send emails take pictures or make phone calls. However, for some one who works on more than one computer it outdoes all these other devices. One can work seamlessly on files in different locations, as the files stay formatted and organized from one computer to the next. It is also a good solution for people who have sensitive information that they don’t want left on their computer, as it can be removed from the computer and taken with you with very little effort. USB drives have a minimum of 128 mb of memory, but often have much more memory. A variety of companies manufacture them and they can be purchased at most any computer or electronics store or online. While not the most flashy gadget, I find it very practical and useful.
